Coloring page bookmarks that fit a book

Color three original strips: sunrise, climbing leaves, and mountain patterns. Each trims to 45 × 150 mm.

How do I make them? Download the PDF for your paper, print at 100% or “Actual size,” color the designs, then cut on each dashed border. A ribbon hole is marked but optional.

Cut size and ribbon hole

Dimensioned diagram of a 45 by 150 millimeter bookmark with optional hole 11 millimeters below top

Each dashed rectangle measures 45 mm wide by 150 mm tall in the source artwork. The three strips are spaced 12.5 mm apart, giving room to cut each one separately. The inner line stays 3.5 mm inside the cut edge.

  1. Choose the A4 or US Letter PDF that matches the paper.
  2. Print at actual size; if your printer clips, use “Fit to printable area,” then check the scaled dimensions before cutting.
  3. Color before cutting, then trim on the outer dashed lines. Punch the small top circle only if you want a ribbon.

Hole position: the optional circle is 5 mm across. Its center is 22.5 mm from either side and 11 mm below the top cut edge. These are source-file dimensions; no physical printer or book was tested.

Quick answers

Do A4 and Letter produce different bookmarks?

No. The paper margins differ, but both source PDFs contain the same three 45 × 150 mm strips when printed at actual size.

Can I use a PNG instead?

Yes: A4 PNG or Letter PNG. The PDFs have native paper dimensions, making actual-size printing easier.

Do I have to punch the hole?

No. Leave the circle uncut for a plain bookmark. If you add a ribbon, keep it short enough to stay outside your book.
